Updated: Two important events organized by the MICHELANGELO Project in Paris and Pisa in March

Organized by the Medical Partners (Assistance Publique Hopiteaux de Paris  in France and Fondazione Stella Maris  in Italy) two important events were held in March in Paris and in Pisa, both with the title:

Scientists make autism breakthrough

Neuroscientists reported on Thursday that, at least in lab mice, a drug that restores the healthy “synaptic pruning” that normally occurs during brain development also reverses autistic-like behaviours such as avoiding social interaction.

Autism Speaks Top Ten Advances in Autism Research 2013

The year 2013 brought signs of a gratifying maturation in autism research. This went beyond the unmistakable increase in the sheer number of autism studies making headlines. Many of the year’s most important advances used new technologies and built on the foundation of knowledge established by years of investment in basic research.
